At Melbourne Capital Group, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting meaningful causes. On 19th September 2024, our Kuala Lumpur team had the privilege of volunteering with The Lost Food Project (TLFP) at their warehouse. TLFP is an organisation dedicated to reducing food waste and providing nutritious meals to those in need, supporting both environmental sustainability and local communities.
Our staff spent the morning engaging in hands-on activities, sorting rescued fresh produce and dividing it for distribution to local charities. The goods we handled would have otherwise gone to waste, but through TLFP's efforts, they were redistributed to feed those who need it most. This experience not only allowed us to contribute to the fight against food insecurity but also raised awareness about the importance of waste management.
By the end of the session, our team helped to rescue 3,283 kilograms of food, providing 9,380 meals and reducing carbon emissions by 8,208 kilograms of CO2. It was a rewarding experience that underscored the impact corporate involvement can have in supporting vital causes. We are proud to have been a part of TLFP’s mission to "feed the hungry, not the landfill."
We look forward to continuing our partnership with The Lost Food Project and encouraging others to get involved in making a difference. Visit their website to get involved www.thellostfoodproject.org.
