The Association of British Women in Malaysia (ABWM) held their Annual Christmas Bazaar on 1st December at the Eastin Hotel, Petaling Jaya. This was our second year sponsoring the event, and this time, we teamed up with The Expats Club Kuala Lumpur to add some festive fun to the day.
The bazaar had a lively atmosphere, with hundreds of families turning up to enjoy the Christmas spirit. A highlight of the day was the Alice Smith School Choir, whose carols filled the hall and set the perfect festive mood. Over 100 vendors and charities were also present, offering a range of seasonal treats, handmade goods, and gifts, making it a great place to get ready for Christmas.
This year, we sponsored a special prize—a trip for five to LEGOLAND Malaysia—and collaborated with The Expats Club KL to host a fun bottle-matching game with prizes up for grabs. The game was a hit with both kids and adults, and the excitement around the table kept everyone entertained throughout the day.
The LEGOLAND trip was won by Alice, who shared a touching story when she came to collect her prize. She planned to gift it to a family friend to make their Christmas extra special. She asked to keep the large display ticket as part of the surprise, which made the win feel even more meaningful.
Other winners included:
- Aisla, a quick-thinking young girl who completed the game in 9 seconds, winning a RM200 Sid’s Pub voucher. Her mum, Ainsley, accepted the prize for her.
- William, who won a RM100 Sid's Pub voucher, with his mum, Karen, stepping in to collect it.
- Alessandro, who won a bottle of wine for his dad, Giovanni.
It was brilliant to see the kids getting the better of the adults in our game—it added plenty of laughs along the way.
The 2024 ABWM Christmas Bazaar was a wonderful day. We were thrilled to be part of it again this year and would like to thank the organisers, vendors, and everyone who came along for making it such an enjoyable event.
