Melbourne Capital Group sponsored the 2024 Inter-Society Golf Tournament and raised over RM20,000 for charity.

Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club once again played host to the Inter-Society Golf Tournament, organised by last year's winning team, the Selangor St. Andrews Society. Melbourne Capital Group, was once again proud main sponsors in our commitment to strengthening bonds within the community through golf.

Seventy-five golfers split into four formidable teams competed over 18 holes. Representing The Selangor St. Andrew's Society, The Royal Society of St. George, The St. Patrick's Society of Selangor, and the Canadian Association of Malaysia combined with the Rest of the World brought their best game.

In a thrilling display of skill and resilience, the Royal Society of St. George emerged victorious, clinching victory by a mere point over the reigning champions, the Selangor St. Andrew's Society. Perhaps players from Melbourne Capital Group, including Tom Henson, Jake Mowson and Luke White skill had contributed to RSSG's win? Despite strong efforts, our American Private Wealth Manager, Michael Garcia was unable to carry the Canadian and Rest of the World team to victory over the other teams.

Similar to last year's format, the tournament had several other competitions, adding an extra layer of thrill to an already electrifying atmosphere. These would not have been made possible without the support of the sponsors. Congratulations to these winners;

Wedge Golf & Social Club "Beat the Pro": Stephen Buxton, Luke White, Andrew Downes, Robert Palmer, Tom Sarginson, James Ball, Mike Garwood, Derek Thomson, Gary Cusson and Tom Tomiye.

Finally, the winning team raised over RM10,000, which was donated to the Malaysian Association of Paediatric Palliative Care. A further RM10,000 was raised amongst the other teams, which was split across 3 other local charities. Once again, this would not have been made possible without contributions from The Asian Tigers Group, Peacock Golf Society, Sid's Pubs, Tito's Vodka, Wedge Golf & Social Club and Melbourne Capital Group.

Looking ahead, Melbourne Capital Group eagerly anticipates next year's tournament, with the winning team of this year's event taking the helm in organising what promises to be another thrilling display of camaraderie and an exceptional day of golf.
